This interview was featured in Sinical 07.

Sinical Magazine: How did you come up with the name 'Sister Sinister'?

Sister Sinister: Actually I wasn't the one that came up with the name. A friend of mine, Ronnie, who also designed my first logo, came up with the name during a photoshoot we were doing. He was doing really cool body paint on me for a Sin City themed shoot, and laughed and said that we should call me Sister Sinister from now on. And so we did.

Sinical Magazine: What motivated you to start modeling?

Sister Sinister: I never really planned to start modelling, it just happened by chance. I had kind of a camera fobia actually, I was really uncomfortable in front of the camera. So it started as some kind of personal development thing, I decided to do a shoot with a friend/phototographer of mine to try to get get over my fears. I actually had heaps of fun during the shoot and the photos turned out alright. After that I did another shoot and created a profile on a community site for models and photographers here in Sweden, and after that I got requests from local photographers and it just kept on going. Since it went so well while just having fun I decided to put more effort in it and see where it could go. And I'm still having fun!

Sinical Magazine: What attracts you to fetish modeling?

Sister Sinister: Of course the outfits and the sexy heels and all those things that I love. But mostly the creativ freedom it gives. There's no boundaries and right's and wrong's in this kind of modelling. You're just free to do what ever you feel like and it doesn't break any "rules". Also I'm free to be as curvy as I want, which is good because I love chocolate.

Sinical Magazine: What is the most important aspect of a photo to you?

Sister Sinister: That's hard to say. It depends on what kind of shoot it is. But it's very important that it's got some kind of 'hook'. Same as with all really good songs! Something that makes it special or catches my eye. Could be a really great composition, a color that pops or just a great general color tone that makes the image special. Or a great expression. Also the genera quality of the photo. I prefer a nice slick image with not too much things in the picture that distracts.

Sinical Magazine: What has been your favorite fetish or pinup outfit that you've worn for a shoot?

Sister Sinister: That's a really tough question.. I have worn so many amazing outfits! And so many different styles..from really crazy spikey catsuits to gorgeous gowns and plain lingerie. I like the more advanced outfits, with lots of different parts and that is some kind of character based outfit or has a theme. I like to be a litte bit theatrical and become someone else of a fiction figure during my shoots. But one of my absolute favourite outfits is something just as simple as a black bra and thong together with smokey grey stockings and long gloves from Latexa. I got that outfit in 2008 I think when I did my first product shooting for them and it has been a favourite since then.

Sinical Magazine: You've modeled for many different companies. Who is your favorite designer?

Sister Sinister: Another hard question to answer. ha ha. I like so many of them for different reasons. They all have their special style and great quality. I really love Westward Bound which is a brand I have been working with for years now, and are still doing shoots for. They have a huge range of both men's and women's latex and corsets. My other favourites are HMS latex from Paris. For their gorgeous designs and color choises and great sense of style. I also have to mention House of Harlot for their flawless work and crazy and well fitting designs. As well as Inner Sanctum and Sweden's own Naucler Design of course.
And the people behind these companies are even lovelier than their products, so that makes the choises a  little bit easier.

Sinical Magazine: what was your first magazine publication and which publication are you most proud of?

Sister Sinister: I actually got two publications at the same time and they were my first ones. Two covers of two magazines in March 2008. I was pretty excited I remember.  One was the cover of a Swedish lifestyle magazine called 'Inspiration'. I was wearing a crazy head piece that the makeup artist, Jessica Lundberg, had made out of wire and old stay ups. Cool and very different! Not to mention heavy.  The other publication was a cover and feature in Bizarre magazine, which of course was super cool!  I'm very proud of all my publications and very grateful. One that has been very special to me and that I have worked hard to get is my cover and feature in Marquis Magazine. I got it last year (2011) in June and it really means a lot to me because that was one of the goals I put up for myself when I started modelling. I am very grateful to everyone I have worked with to get that.
And I'm super proud of this feature in Sinical Magazine!

Sinical Magazine: You're from Australia. What's it like there?

Sister Sinister: I have only been in Australia for a year and have seen far from everything I would like to see. It's an amazing country with lovely people and nature. They have heaps of amazing birds that are social and great surf. It's also really easy being healthy there because of the nature and all the things they can grow locally. Not as good if you're in the fetish scene or trying to model latex. It's sooo hot!

Sinical Magazine: What is the fetish and pinup scene like there?

Sister Sinister: I actually didn't explore that very much when I was there. I wanted a total cultural change for a while and focused on surfing and beach stuff instead. It doesn't seem to be veeery much going on tho. The only thing that I noticed without having to look for it is that they have a large burlesque scene. That is something I've never really gotten into tho. But it was nice to see! Also there is an area called King's Cross where there is some shops that sells fetish gear and so on. But I haven't heard of any bigger parties or anything. At least not in Sydney where I spent most of my time. But then again, I didn't look for it either. If anyone else knows, please inform me!

Sinical Magazine: You are originally from Sweden. Why did you move from Sweden to Australia?

Sister Sinister: I had always wanted to visit Australia. I mean, who wouldn't? It's an amazing country! Then I got the opportunity to take a year off from work in Sweden, so I decided to get a working/holiday visa for a year and go explore Australia. Who knows when the chance would come again? If ever.

Sinical Magazine: where is your dream location for a photo shoot?

Sister Sinister: I would love to shoot in a huge old style english mansion. With lots of land and stables and lovely gardens. And horses! Or a beautiful tropical paradise. There's many different locations I'd love to shoot in. Most of the places don't even exist other than in my fantasy.

Sinical Magazine: Who are some photographers you would like to work with someday and why?

Sister Sinister: Ohh tough question! They are too many! I'd love to work with Allan Amato someday soon. He's a fantastic and creative photographer and also a great and super funny person. Viva van story is and amazing female photographer that I'd love to work with. She know's how to make a perfect pin up picture in a erotic and sexy but never tacky way. Another photographer I'd love to work with is Jeffrey Scott. For his obvious epicness.

Sinical Magazine: You look amazing. How do you stay in shape?

Sister Sinister: I'm asking myself the same question everyday. I'm not as good at being healthy as I could be! I know how to be it's just so hard to stick to it since I'm a mad ice cream addict. Jokes aside.. I just eat healthy, meaning mostly fruit and veggies and nuts and things like that. Trying to avoid dairy, gluten and processed foods, and drinking as much water as I possibly can. I make sure to sleep propery and excercise as often as I can. That's it!  I'm kind of being 80% good and 20% bad. Gotta live a litte and treat myself now and then with some Ben & Jerry's.

Sinical Magazine: Do you have any guilty pleasures?

Sister Sinister: Oh yes. I think I have to count my Ben & Jerry's addiction to that. I just love my ice cream.
Also..I like to listen to Within Temptation when I'm at home cleaning. Don't tell anyone.

Sinical Magazine: Are you more dominant or submissive?

Sister Sinister: In my day to day life and how I handle things I'm more dominant. I like to take control and tell people what to do and how when it comes to many things. But when it comes to 'other things' I'm more submissive.

Sinical Magazine: What are some of your fetishes?

Sister Sinister: Something I was fascinated with really early and what kind of got me to end up in this business, bondage. High heels and wearing latex.

Sinical Magazine: Do you have a website?

Sister Sinister: I do! Hopefully I can get a new website going soon or at least make the one I've got more stylish and functional. But please visit www.sistersinister.se for a latex fix.

Ashtrayheart Interview

ashtrayheart 01

Photo, retouch: Heiner Seemann / GrautonStudio. Hair, make up, styling: Ashtrayheart.

Ashtrayheart is a gothic/alternative model based in Rendsburg, Germany.

Sinical Magazine: How did you get started in alternative modeling?

Ashtrayheart: I simply saw beautiful and professional pictures of some gothic girls and thought 'maan I want such pretty pictures too!' So I got an account on a german modelpage and soon I had my first photo shoot, which was super bad, but I got to know some really good photographers and I can call some of them my friends now! The very first photo shoot I had was in 2007. In 2010 it became my passion and my way to express myself.

Sinical Magazine: What are your measurements?

Ashtrayheart: I am only 1,65 m tall and I have a pretty normal figure. :)

ashtrayheart 02

Sinical Magazine: What do you think makes a model stand out from others?

Ashtrayheart: Well, I don't like calling myself a model, because that's not what I do. (facebook didnt let me give my page a one word name, so I had to put the model in it. But I think models can only stand out from others, when they have their own style and it comes through in their work.

Sinical Magazine: What is the most interesting thing that has happened to you as a model?

Ashtrayheart: Oh there are a lot of interesting things happening everytime! It's always wonderful to make an idea come true in a picture.  What's always interesting is of course the travelling. Seeing lots of cool locations and taking pictures! And I remember when I was grocery shopping one day and a girl came up to me saying 'you are the model right?! I like your page and your pictures are sooo cool!' I was a bit shocked but it was so cool! I am always amazed by all the people who like what I do. That makes me very happy!

Sinical Magazine: Who are some photographers you've worked with and who are some you would like to work with?

Ashtrayheart: I have worked a lot of times with Heiner Seemann. We are a good team and we also became friends. Steffi Baade is also one of my favourite photographers. Her pictures are so emotional and I love to work with her. I've also worked a lot of times with Mathias Bannick. He was one of the first photographers I've worked with. Carsten Tolkmit and Deniz Xenia too! Last year I had a shooting with Alice bizarre make up artist and the photographer Al Overdrive in London. That was quite cool and a great expeariance! If I'd get the chance, I'd like to work with Scott cole. He's very talented and I like the style of his works.

Sinical Magazine: Clothing wise, what is your main fetish?

Ashtrayheart: I guess plateauboots and blazers. Boring, eh?

Sinical Magazine: Who are some of your favorite designers?

Ashtrayheart: Uuuhm. I dont know any designers... All my outfits are mostly from fleamarkets or selfmade :)

Sinical Magazine: What type of music do you listen to?

Ashtrayheart: I like all kinds of music! I really like Rockmusic and electronic sounds. I guess gothmusic is my favorite but I also like listening to popmusic. As long as the music does something good to me, I dont care if its Britney Spears singing to me or if its an old Depeche mode song. (I love Britney btw *-*)

Sinical Magazine: What is the alt/fetish scene like in your city?

Ashtrayheart: I live in a very small city. To see people like me is rare. I guess I am pretty lonley here, because people are still shocked when they pass my way.

Sinical Magazine: Where can Sinical readers see more of your work?

Ashtrayheart: Most of it is on my Facebook-page, plus a lot of private and backstage-pictures:

Mistress Ella Strictland Interview

Mistress Ella Strictland is a Houston-based Professional Dominatrix. Her private facility 'The Iron Gate' is located near Downtown in the east Montrose area.

Mistress Ella Strictland is the Head Mistress of ClubFEM®. ClubFEM® is a BDSM orginization for Female dominants and submissive men. FEM is an acronym for "Females Enslaving Males". The term "club" does not refer to a place or location but an organization of people coming together based on their mutual interest of Female domination and male submission.

Photos by Danny Stygion.

This interview and pictorial was feature in issue 1 of subspace Magazine.

subspace Magazine: How did you get started in a career in professional Domination?

Mistress Ella Strictland: I got started after several years of private participation in BDSM. I had a play space that was filled with equipment I had accumulated, and a personal Prodom friend began to encourage me to open it up.

subspace Magazine: What are some of your specialties?

Mistress Ella Strictland: Bondage... steal bondage, ropes etc. Feminization, sissification, Medical play, corporal spanko scenes... I do it all.

subspace Magazine: Do you have any favorite BDSM devices or toys?

Mistress Ella Strictland: Yes, but it varies over time.  I would never want my play time to become like "ground hog day".  Variety and new ideas keep it fresh for me.

subspace Magazine: Can you describe the rooms in your private facility "The Iron Gate"?

Mistress Ella Strictland: I have a 20'X20' all purpose open play room where there is an electric suspension hoist, cage table, spanking benches etc.  There is also a Fetish dress up room with a vast array of cross dressing items. Those two rooms are on the 1st floor.  There is a two story electric hoist for cages on the second floor, and a 3rd floor corporal office with cane and paddle racks for office scenarios where the dungeon environment is not as inspiring.

subspace Magazine: One of the things you are known for is your prostate milking technique. Can you tell us a little about your perspective on "prostate milking"?

Mistress Ella Strictland: Yes, it is very powerful!  When I first began to experiment with this technique, I was interested in it for chastity.  I read that a boy in permanent, or long term denial needs his fluid drained for prostate health reasons. Once I figured out how to do this effectively and began to practice it frequently, I started to realize the deep level of helplessness and submissiveness a boy experiences... not to mention the incredible Top Space on My end. The slave's sexual triggers are all lit up via toys or electricity, and I am in complete control of it. This renders him quite malleable and willing to do anything I want.

subspace Magazine: Is prostate milking an extension of forced feminization?

Mistress Ella Strictland: Certainly.  Men are not use to being penetrated like a woman is, so it is a much deeper and more full body experience than how a guy-guy, usually handles his sexuality.

subspace Magazine: A lot of slaves have spoken highly of you when it comes to a first time session. What do you try and accomplish in a first time session?

Mistress Ella Strictland: Usually a slave is very nervous on his first experience and I really enjoy that.  Perhaps this sets an immediate tone that he is not at all in charge.  I think that is liberating feeling for a slave.  I find out what image he saw, video he watched, what he read or what past experiene drove him to contact me in the first place.  Finding out those initial triggers will set up the areas of play to explore.

subspace Magazine: What are some things you like to make a new slave try?

Mistress Ella Strictland: New slaves are like virgins.  It's a blast to break them in and go on that first journey with them.  Again, it's important to find out what makes them tick.  It is not any fun to try and encase someone who has claustrophobic tendencies or to try and bullwhip a slave who does not respond to pain. I mean you can't try to wind up a toy that is suppose to operate on batteries.

It's a whole package.  For example if jonny is visiting the school nurse because he claims to be sick on the day of exams.... I am Nurse Strictella from head to toe, I will examine this student on the medical table and get to the bottom of this. ..Yes, I do love role play scenarios a lot.

subspace Magazine: You have stated that you've been a fetish dresser all your life. What fetish outfits appeal to you?

Mistress Ella Strictland: I love love love leather.  I love the extreme and sexy look of latex, but that gets tough to hang in after awhile. I also enjoy a break from extreme fetish in a serious corporate nightmare suit with nylons and heals.

subspace Magazine: 2 of the themes of this issue are nylons and leather. What are some of your personal fetishes?

Mistress Ella Strictland: Nothing is sexier than nylons made of nylon or silk, with a full fashion French or Euro heel.  I have several with Ms Ella monogramed on the boarders.  Leather?  At The Iron Gate I have a boot cellar filled with leather boots, and numerous boxes of them stored elsewhere...  from equestrian to studded high heals and leather ballet boots for the slaves in a couple of sizes. Lots of Bicker Bitch, Cowgirl, Mistress dresses, short for boots and long for sternness etc, etc, etc.

subspace Magazine: What was your first experience with a foot worshiper like?

Mistress Ella Strictland: The fist time I didn't have a clue what it was about, and I was just winging it. I find that there has to be a meaning behind any activity for me to get into it. Since then I have come full circle on this. I love what it symbolizes to have a slave look at my feet while I Dominate him, kiss them hello and goodbye, and feel the weight and pressure of me standing on him with bare feet while he feels his place underneath me. I think turning foot play into a torture exercise is really hot too.  For example, I tie my slave's balls to the hoist and force him to crawl to my feet, where I am sitting across the room... just out of reach.  Or dip my toes in golden nectar so they must thoroughly clean them with the tongue. The one painful thing a Mistress who loves beautiful fetish foot wear learns to endure is sore feet, so bare foot worships and play is a huge pleasure.... plus I treat myself to a professional pedicure every other week.

subspace Magazine: You are the Head Mistress of ClubFEM. Can you tell us a little about this organization?

Mistress Ella Strictland: Yes, I am the International Head Mistress, and I run the original chapter that started in Houston in 1992.  I joined the organization in late 2003, and in 2004 the founding Head Mistress Dee was deciding to retire from running ClubFEM, and asked me take her position.  ClubFEM is a Lifestyle only organization and I was concerned about how my professional status would be perceived, so I partnered with my close friend at the time, Mistress Modesty who is lifestyle only, and we ran ClubFEM and launched ClubFEM International together from 2005 until 2009.  I am still in charge, and the organization is now global with chapters throughout the US, Russia, the UK, Australia and even Tasmania. ClubFEM is a registered trademark and a household name among the BDSM community around the world.  ClubFEM is strictly devoted to the celebration of Female Dominant/ male submissive relationships and promises the experience of a 100% Female authority environment.

Melissa Drew Interview

melissa drew 1

Oscar Mendoza Photography

Sinical Magazine: How did you get started in alternative modeling?

Melissa Drew: When I was in high school I had a friend who was in college that was very into photography. She would ask me to get dressed up and we'd go out and take photos. Then when I turned 18 I decided to get a Model Mayhem account. It all went from there!

Sinical Magazine: What are your measurements?

Melissa Drew: 34-25-34!

melissa drew 2

Sinical Magazine: What was the most interesting thing that has happened during a photo shoot?

Melissa Drew: Oh gosh, I don't know. Generally every shoot has something interesting about it. There's often lots of changing in lingerie in public, weird looks from onlookers, breaking into abandoned places, moving dead animals, lots of joking around. I recently had a bat fly out at my head while shooting in a closet of an abadoned house.

Sinical Magazine: Who is more of an influence: Bettie Page or Dita Von Teese?

Melissa Drew: This is a tough one for me. I want to say Bettie Page simply for the fact that she came first, but I really think Dita Von Teese has done more and embraced the lifestyle much more.

Sinical Magazine: Who are some photographers you've worked with and who are some you would like to work with?

Melissa Drew: I've worked with tons of photographers from the United States and Hong Kong. Someone I'd like to work with that I haven't yet is Ellen von Unwerth. She's truly an inspiration and her work is beautiful and sensual.

melissa drew 3

Sinical Magazine: Who are the top 5 alt. models, currently?

Melissa Drew: Ooh, I have no idea! Probably Dita Von Teese, Masuimi Max, Mosh, Bianca Beauchamp, and maybe Raquel Reed.

Sinical Magazine: Who are the top 5. alt. photographers, currently?

Melissa Drew: I definitely think it depends on the area you're in. Two that come to mind for me are Ellen von Unwerth and Holly Randall.

Sinical Magazine: Do you have any pet peeves when it comes to other models or photographers?

Melissa Drew: I don't like needy people. Model is fun for me, but it's also a job. Unless we're friends or we've worked together several times, I really don't like when people bring their personal life into our shoot.

melissa drew 4

Sinical Magazine: Clothing wise, what is your main fetish?

Melissa Drew: I have a huge medical fetish. I love medical crosses on EVERYTHING. I also really love garters, pvc, and latex. It's hard to choose!

Sinical Magazine: Who are some of your favorite designers?

Melissa Drew: Artifice Clothing. Hands down! Some of my proudest moments in my modeling career has been modeling their designs. I also own several of their pieces.

Sinical Magazine: What type of music do you listen to?

Melissa Drew: A lot of industrial, harsh EBM, trip-hop, visual kei, darkwave, and hip hop.

melissa drew 5

Sinical Magazine: What is the alt/fetish scene like in your city?

Melissa Drew: There really isn't one! I think that Craig Gardner and I basically make up the scene here hah. Of course I can't account for what happens after hours in people's bedrooms.

Sinical Magazine: Where can Sinical readers see more of your work?
