Scarlett River is a Los Angeles-based model. She has appeared on the cover of and featured in Temptress Magazine, Delicious Dolls, and Radiant Inc. Magazine.
Sinical Magazine: When were you born and where? Where are you currently located?
Scarlett River: I was born on July 7th 1985 in Detroit, Michigan. I grew up in Chicago, started modeling in Paris, France, and now reside in Los Angeles.
Sinical Magazine: How did you get started in modeling?
Scarlett River: I was discovered by a French photographer, Sophie Boss, she tested with me, and introduced me to the French Alt scene. From there I got to work with some of the most talented photographers in Paris, I feel very lucky to have had a very easy and smooth start into modeling. Even though its funny because I don't feel that I really ever sought it out, rather, I kinda fell into modeling. However, I am happy that it found me, its enriched my life in so many ways!
Sinical Magazine: What was the first magazine or image you came across that made you want to become a model? If not a magazine, what inspired you?
Scarlett River: Like I said, I never predicted I would ever model. But I think a lot of things that inspired me in the beginning were vintage photographs of pin up girls and old hollywood glamour. I loved Betty Page, of course, and images of Rita Hayworth inspired me a lot too. However, I remember stumbling upon Masuimi Max's myspace page, way back in the day and just being mesmerized by this woman, she is so diverse and animated, her photos and modeling have been a huge inspiration to me.
Sinical Magazine: What do you think makes a model stand out from others?
Scarlett River: Diversity, and originality. I love when models have the ability to be total chameleons and change their look and styling for different themed shoots. I think its very important for models to switch up their look and style on occasion. I get bored really easy, so I am always looks for ways to transform my style in a creative way that can express different aspects of my personality.

Sinical Magazine: What are your measurements?
Scarlett River: I am 5'9" tall, my bust is 34B, my waist 23" my hips 38".
Sinical Magazine: What is your shoe size?
Scarlett River: 8.5.
Sinical Magazine: Clothing wise, what are your fetishes and why?
Scarlett River: Corsets, I love to cinch down to 18 inches. I love thigh high nylons, thigh high leather boots and painfully high heels. I love the corset because it accentuates a woman's curves, creating the hourglass figure is so beautiful, regardless what your measurements may be...
Sinical Magazine: From a model's perspective, what do you think is the most important aspect of a photo?
Scarlett River: The light, sometimes I think people forget the definition of "photography" means quiet literally, "to paint, with light." If a photographer knows how to light his/her subject, it creates a wonderful image without the need of excessive photoshop. I am not against photoshop by any means, I just feel that too many people rely on it, instead of spending the proper time to light the model, and make her beauty shine.

Sinical Magazine: What type of music do you listen to?
Scarlett River: Mostly Metal or 80's Hard Rock, however I love Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Lana Del Rey, and many other groups that don't happen to fall into those categories.
Sinical Magazine: Besides modeling, what else do you like to do for fun?
Scarlett River: I'm a fashion designer, textile designer, and graphic artist. I sew a lot and love to create pieces for my shoots. I went to Art school, so having a career outside of modeling is also very nice and stable, this allows me to take on the projects that I am most interested in, which allows me a lot more creative freedom for the shoots that I do take on.
Sinical Magazine: What's up next for you?
Scarlett River: I'm focusing more on very high styled shoots, with big productions, and amazing wardrobe and locations, so you'll be seeing more of that soon. I've got three magazine covers coming out next month, so keep your eye out for them!
