Sinical Magazine: When were you born and where? Where are you currently located?
Therése Rosier: I was born 1989 in capital town of Czech republic, Prague, where I have lived all my life except for three years I spent in Teplice city.
Sinical Magazine: How did you get started in modeling?
Therése Rosier: I started shooting when I was about 14. My friend was studying photography and she took some photos of me and my sister. After two years I had my first professional photo shoot.
Sinical Magazine: What was the first magazine you came across that made you want to become a model? If not a magazine, what inspired you?
Therése Rosier: It´s hard to say. I don´t know exactly. When I was teenager I was fascinated with dark beauty, tattooed ladies and all alternative beauties. I don’t remember exactly a title, but it was probably some kind of Ttttoo magazine. When I was younger, I really loved the style of divas from movies from the 1930’s.
Sinical Magazine: What do you think makes a model stand out from others?
Therése Rosier: Definitely soul and character. A model must be a strong entity, and must take your attention from the first time you look at her. You can be a beautiful model but without “it“ you are only another face and you will fall into oblivion.
Sinical Magazine: From a model’s perspective, what do you think is the most important aspect of a photo..
Therése Rosier: Feeling! I don’t believe it’s all about beauty. The photographer must bring out the soul of the model.
Sinical Magazine: Clothing wise, what are your fetishes and why?
Therése Rosier: I love pleasant lingerie, stockings, high heels, etc. The classic wardrobe for a pin-up/alternative woman. I would like to mention hats! I have passion for classic vintage style hats, and berets. I love berets so much! Hats with large brim – it´s my must have and a big fetish.
Sinical Magazine: What type of music do you listen to?
Therése Rosier: I like diversity so I don´t have one type of favorite music. I like hits from the 50´s, Johnny Cash, Edith Piaf, Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie, David Bowie, Nirvana, Pete Doherty (The Libertines/Babyshambles), IAMX, Kasabian, Enter Shikari, Dresden dolls, Muse, Radiohead, Gary Numan, Eels, The Cure. And much much more. I realy love and enjoy music.
Sinical Magazine: What is the alt/fetish scene like in your city?
Therése Rosier: We have kind of a small community of alternative models and performers. But I think despite the fact that it isn´t too big of a community we still have a strong core. In the Czech Republic, they don´t have too much of an understanding for alternative culture. We have sort of an underground fetish scene here.
Sinical Magazine: Besides modeling, you are also an artist. Can you talk about this?
Therése Rosier: I’m a full time painter, especially pin-up artist and portraitist too. It´s charming, provocative and seductive artwork from my soul. My artwork is about celebration of feminity, mysterious seduction, retro, vintage, and burlesque style. I paint mainly with watercolors and common ink. It´s my favorite technique. I use a wet surface and when it is dry, I use little by little several layers of watercolor with ink and acrylic for details. I combine realistic portraits with abstract splashes and flowing red colors – this aspect has a foundation in my obsession with sickness in mind, and my fascination with the psychology of serial killers.
Sinical Magazine: Where can people buy your art?
Therése Rosier: I have only a Facebook fan page and a personal profile on Facebook. So you can write me a message to my Facebook page or by e-mail, if you are interested in purchasing. But I’ve been planning to launch a website for a long time.
Sinical Magazine: What’s up next for you?
Therése Rosier: I am planning new exhibitions. I have one upcoming at Absintheria, and a big Spring exhibition presenting a dark-horror style. It will propablly be in some creepy abaondoned place, or an old underground tunnel, or maybe a room in an insane asylum. It will be spectacular. And my biggest plan for now is to learn to do tattoo art in the style of my artwork with fellow artist Striga. In half a year I plan to go to London for several months.
