Sinical Magazine: When were you born and where? Where are you currently located?
Sharuzen: I have been born in January 1986 at the north Slovakian city called Zilina. I am currently living at Cologne/Germany where I have moved from London few months ago, but I am traveling a lot.
Sinical Magazine: How did you get started in modeling?
Sharuzen: I have got to the modeling really randomly. As a painter I have always needed a good references for my paintings and if there wasn’t any model around, I took often a pictures of myself. When my friend photographer saw pictures I did of myself, asked me if I would be interested to shoot with him as a model and I said yes, so that’s how I got started.
Sinical Magazine: What was the first magazine you came across that made you want to become a model? If not a magazine, what inspired you?
Sharuzen: I have always had a lot of ideas what I wanted to create as soon as possible. To create paintings can long days, months even years. When I have got my first camera, things started to go faster. It was really the camera what inspired me. With a camera I have more flexibility and it takes less time to transfer my idea then it would be with a painting.
Sinical Magazine: What do you think makes a model stand out from others?
Sharuzen: Definitely charisma. If model has a strong charisma. the clothes and make-up don’t matter as much.
Sinical Magazine: From a model’s perspective, what do you think is the most important aspect of a photo?
Sharuzen: It’s very difficult for me to respond this question just from the model’s perspective, as I am also photographer. I will say composition and then balance between light and shadow is what brings that wow factor to each photo and creating the whole atmosphere.
Sinical Magazine: What are your measurements?
Sharuzen: Height: 5’4”. Weight: 117 lbs. Bust: 35”. Waist: 26”. Hips: 36”. Dress: 10.
Sinical Magazine: What is your shoe size?
Sharuzen: Normally size 5 but when I am wearing the high heels it’s size 4.
Sinical Magazine: Clothing wise, what are your fetishes and why?
Sharuzen: I really like everything what looks magic and mystical. I very like cloths, which are black, transparent, with laces, then corsets, hats and jewelry.
Sinical Magazine: There are dark and gothic themes in your work. Can you talk about this?
Sharuzen: I love history, gothic and baroque things, with dark and magic feelings inside. That’s something what is really close to me and I would say it’s a part of me and always was. I would never say that I am just a gothic person cause I have been never thinking like that. For me it’s something natural and I am doing what I feel. Basically said these kinds of themes are always offering me never ending field of possibilities for my art.
Sinical Magazine: What are some of your favorite horror films?
Sharuzen: Honestly I don’ t really have one. Maybe it sounds weird but I haven’t seen anything overwhelming to me.
Sinical Magazine: What type of music do you listen to?
Sharuzen: I like certain songs from various interprets. It means a lot to me when I am painting or doing photography. I like rock music, gothic rock and of course metal music, for example Type O Negative, Sisters of Mercy, Behemoth, Motley Crue, Motorhead. I know it’s an interesting combination but I really like them all.
Sinical Magazine: Besides modeling, you are a tattoo artist. Can you talk about your tattoo art?
Sharuzen: That’s my main job and I really love it. It’ s something what I really wanted to do since I was a child. I am also painter but being tattoo artist is something more for me. When I am painting I am transferring my ideas on canvas but when I am tattooing I have to work with the whole body shape and tone of skin, which is more creative. Personally I really love to do realistic, surrealistic and fantasy tattoos, cause my head is full of ideas like this. These style also giving my artistic freedom, which is very important to me. All of my tattoos are custom designs which I am preparing for each of my clients individually cause everybody is unique. And actually I am tattooing at the “Monsters Under Your Bed” studio in Cologne/Germany.
Sinical Magazine: What’s up next for you?
Sharuzen: I will be working on tattoo conventions across the Europe this year again and also planning few guest spots in another tattoo studios. I am also planning to do more photo shoots and collaborations with clothing designers mainly here in Germany where I am actually based. I would also like to organize an exhibition of my paintings this year. I would really like to make more videos in the future cause that’ s something I am really fascinated about it. Apart ofrom all that, I’m still improving myself and creating more and more art for people. |
