Sinical Magazine: When did you start fetish modeling?

Morrigan Hel: I was pretty young at the time, I think my first fetish fashion show was at 15 years old.

Sinical Magazine: What has been the most interesting thing to happen during one of your photo shoots?

Morrigan Hel: When I shot with Christophe Mourthe at his farm house in France, one of his donkeys started nibbling my latex clad leg, ha ha! fortunately I love animals so I found it hilarious! I also remember shooting for a photographer called Andreas Neubauer and climbing over rubble and broken glass to get into an abandoned factory, that was pretty precarious. Oh and probably one of the least pleasant experiences was when I was shooting in Los Angeles, the photographer was using old film lights and one of them exploded and cut my legs, a piece of glass also cut me between my eyes, very narrowly actually missing my eye.

Sinical Magazine: Bizarre Magazine recently announced that they will stop printing issues, Peter Czernich of Marquis has stated that he is looking to retire from publishing soon, and Skin Two no longer publishes print editions. Do you still think there will be a market for printed alt/fetish magazine publications?

Morrigan Hel: It would be incredibly sad if printed magazines were to disappear completely, there’s nothing quite like holding a brand new magazine in your hands and flicking through the pages! Even the way the magazine smells is amazing, particularly if it’s printed on quality paper! But realistically if the magazines are not making enough to survive due to the internet, there’s little hope. Although, I think there will always be a market for print, even if it’s getting smaller and smaller. I suppose it will become a niche market, like vinyl.

Sinical Magazine: What do you think of the new UK porn censorship law? How has it affected things for fetish video producers?

Morrigan Hel: I think it’s absolutely ridiculous, it’s clearly aimed at the fetish/BDSM market, particularly small independent producers and it’s really compromised a lot of peoples businesses. If they want to crack down on something, they should turn their attentions where it’s actually needed, such as porn depicting violent rape.

Sinical Magazine: The theme of this issue is domination. Can you talk about the dominant side of your lifestyle?

Morrigan Hel: I’d always been naturally dominant and decisive within my private life, I suppose I can be a bit of a control freak, but not necessarily in an obvious way, more surrounding what I do and how I do it. I think the first time I was introduced to the image of a Dominatrix was when I was about 12 years old, watching the films ‘Sid and Nancy’ and also ‘Personal services’ I found the idea of it immensely exciting and facinating. As I got older it made perfect sense to take my interest a step further and become a pro domme.

Sinical Magazine: When did you first realize you were into kink?

Morrigan Hel: Very early on. I used to tie my brothers friends to trees when I was growing up in Wales, I also had a thing for ‘boys toys’ such as plastic handcuffs, knives and guns (toy ones obviously). I used to collect She ra dolls and I was really into comic book heroines/villainess’s. I loved their thigh high boots, bullwhips and skin tight outfits, also the fact that they were powerful females. I then moved to London as a teenager and discovered the alternative and fetish scene, which I immersed myself in completely.

Sinical Magazine: How long have you been a professional dominant?

Morrigan Hel: I’ve been a pro domme now for around 13 years (I can’t believe it’s been that long!) I did my first pro session at Pandora’s Box in NYC, it was totally by chance. I’d been asked to shoot for a magazine over there and I got offered the late shift, it was a really interesting experience, the dungeon was beautiful and when I got home I actively sought out a dungeon to hire and got started professionally soon after.

Sinical Magazine: Is S&M a form of psychotherapy?

Morrigan Hel: Yes it definitely can be, I have a keen interest in psychology and I’m planning on starting studies in hypnotherapy this year. A lot of my regular clients describe the sessions as therapeutic. Recently a sub of mine managed to get over a fear he had whilst in session and he’s now applying it in other areas of his life, which is great. I think a lot of people can find it very cathartic, I think the element of the forbidden can also be appealing although everyone has very different reasons for coming for sessions.

Sinical Magazine: The fetish clothing focus is on nylons. What are the appeal of nylons to you?

Morrigan Hel: Oh I love nylons! They’re just so sexy and iconic. I love putting them on, wearing them, the way they feel, look and smell. Also the fact that they have to be held up by a suspender belt, all those buckles and straps!

Sinical Magazine: Can you talk about your fascination with leather?

Morrigan Hel: It probably has something to do with being bought up around horses. I always loved the smell of the tack room and of course I loved riding horses and being in control of a huge and powerful animal. The sensations were pretty good too, so you put the two things together. It’s all very primal, and it smells irresistible.

Sinical Magazine: What are your measurements?

Morrigan Hel: Height: 5’7”
Chest 36”
Bra: 32 E/F
Waist 25”
Hips 36”

Sinical Magazine: What is your shoe size?

Morrigan Hel: Size UK 6 (European 39).

Sinical Magazine: Can you talk about Murder Mile?

Morrigan Hel: Murder Mile is like an alternative, adult playground I suppose. I hire it out for photography, filming, parties, private hire and we also take a lot of my pictures there under Murder Mile Photography. We offer photography for other people, my husband takes the pictures and I do all of the editing, I also do make up and styling. I set up Murder Mile Studios almost 6 years ago now. It started out in a smaller location as a bit of an experiment and everything went well so I moved it to a bigger location. When I first set up my own small dungeon years ago, I always wanted to expand it and turn it into a themed and multi roomed space which could be used for different purposes. We built it from scratch and did all of the renovations, set building, sourcing furniture, etc. It took a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears but it’s all worth it.

Sinical Magazine: Besides fetish modeling and professional domination, what do you like to do for fun?

Morrigan Hel: I like going to see bands play, partying with my husband and close friends, hanging out with my three cats and snakes, travelling, scuba diving, riding, fire performing, singing with my band Nemhain, practicing guitar, aerial practice, reading, eating out, and watching films.

Sinical Magazine: What type of music do you listen to?

Morrigan Hel: I generally listen to Rock, alternative, punk, doom, stoner rock, blues, some heavy metal, goth, psychobilly etc I hate dance music! Some of my favourite bands are - Danzig, The Doors, 16 horsepower, Mark Lanegan, PJ Harvey, Monster Magnet, Type O Negative, Wanda Jackson, Mad Sin, Demented Scum Cats, Elvis, Nick Cave, Misfits, Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Distillers, Reverend Horton Heat, and the list goes on!

Sinical Magazine: What are some of your favorite books and who are some of your favorite authors?

Morrigan Hel: Again so many! I’ll try to keep this brief. Genre wise; true crime, occult, erotica, dark fairytales. I love Angela Carter, Anaïs Nin, Lydia Lunch, Anne Rice, Colin Wilson, Hunter S Thompson, Bukowski, Anton Lavey, Dennis Wheatley. Some of my favourite books are The Master & Margarita, Dirty Weekend, The Bloody Chamber, The Satanic Witch, The Devil Rides Out. 120 Days of Sodom work makes for pretty interesting reading, as does The Story of O and Venus in Furs, all erotic classics! Lovecraft’s The Necronomicon, Peter Carroll’s Liber Null & Psychonaut and Aleister Crowleys Magick, among many others.

Sinical Magazine: Do you have any upcoming projects or events you will be appearing at you would like to mention?

Morrigan Hel: I’ll be appearing in a film called Tearful Surrender which is due to start filming this year. I’m also working on an album with my band Nemhain. Other than that I’ll be appearing at the Dominatrix weekend in the Netherlands in March and I have a trip to the US scheduled shortly after that. |
