Sinical Magazine: When were you born and where?

Shelly d’Inferno: I’m a swede in my twenties, born in Stockholm!

Sinical Magazine: Where are you currently located?

Shelly d’Inferno: I live in London.

Sinical Magazine: What was the first fetish magazine or book that you came across?

Shelly d’Inferno: The legendary Bizarre Magazine, I saw it at a tattoo shop and remember I was shocked by some of the content, and intrigued and fascinated by the rest.

Sinical Magazine: How did you get started in fetish modeling?

Shelly d’Inferno: I like to shoot most styles, it’s something about creating a character when I get ready for a shoot. I love acting and I see my modeling as a way of it, I guess you could say I love roleplay! Shooting fetish for me is alot about feeling power, sexuality, confidence and a slight insanity.

Sinical Magazine: What do you think makes a model stand apart from others?

Shelly d’Inferno: In my eyes the best models are the ones that show most versatility. I shoot for the art of it, not to become an icon. So what impresses me most is when I can get blown away by a model pulling off a fetish look as well as a high fashion look. At the same time I understand a modeling career can also be about creating your own specific look-trademark, and that can make you stand out too.

Sinical Magazine: What has been the most interesting thing to happen during a photo shoot?

Shelly d’Inferno: Interesting and interesting, but it was funny! I did a shoot in a studio with fire a while back. The whole team didnt realise how much smoke it would produce during such a short time so we all had to escape a smoked out studio and air it out for ages.

Sinical Magazine: How do you think the alt/fetish scene has evolved since you started modeling?

Shelly d’Inferno: I think it has definitely become a more and more popular scene through the years. What’s great with alt. modeling is that you dont need all the typical standards to get together and create something awesome. It’s okay to be different. Its appreciated.

Sinical Magazine: From a model’s perspective, what do you think is the most important aspect of a photo?

Shelly d’Inferno: For me it’s definitely that the photo speaks to you, that it expresses something more than just ‘a model in an outfit’. It needs to be punchy, and it shouldn’t be about beauty. You shouldnt look for your best angle or pout, look at the whole picture and the first impression it gives you. If it punches you in the face it’s the one!

Sinical Magazine: The fetish clothing theme of this issue is nylons. Can you talk about the appeal of nylons to you?

Shelly d’Inferno: Nylons. I’m gonna answer that with one of the sexiest lyrics ever written by Faithless ‘Insomnia please release me and let me dream of Makin’ mad love to my girl on the heath Tearin’ off tights with my teeth’.

Sinical Magazine: What are some of your favorite brands of nylons?

Shelly d’Inferno: I’m not fuzzy with what brands nylons are from. If they look good, they do it for me. Instead I can mention my favorite style and that is definitely with seam on the back!

Sinical Magazine: Clothing wise, what are your fetishes and why?

Shelly d’Inferno: I love the feel of wearing something heavy on my hips, like a heavy bullet belt. Ridiculously low rise skin tight jeans and anything high collar. I can’t really explain why, it just appeals to me.

Sinical Magazine: What are your measurements?

Shelly d’Inferno: 82cm, 65cm, 90cm.

Sinical Magazine: What is your shoe size?

Shelly d’Inferno: EUR 38.

Sinical Magazine: What type of music do you listen to?

Shelly d’Inferno: All sorts! Some favorites right now are Black Light Burns and Grimes. I like something with a strong melody or good deep beat.

Sinical Magazine: Besides modeling, what do you like to do for fun?

Shelly d’Inferno: All my jobs are my hobbies. I dont only model, Im a fire performer, fashion designer, photographer and makeup artist too. I do all of that for fun as well as live off it. Im a very lucky girl. Other than that I love to travel and party!

Sinical Magazine: What are some of your favorite books and who are some of your favorite authors?

Shelly d’Inferno: My favorite book is And The Ass Saw The Angel by Nick Cave, he is also my favorite musician. I love all his books and lyrics. He’s an amazing mood and story-teller.

Sinical Magazine: Do you have any other upcoming projects you would like to mention?

Shelly d’Inferno: I’ve been working on something new that I’ve never done before this year, and thats music. I’ve started a project with a friend of mine where I’ll be singing. It should be interesting to experience that area. |
